The night before…
It’s the night before we leave and after throwing everything in to a huge rucksack (Jeremy) or carefully editing and categorising a handwritten list before realising not everything will fit (Melissa) [Melissa edit: it does all fit thank you very much], the excitement is starting to kick in. In (unfortunately) only a few hours we’ll be waking up and heading off to Heathrow and starting the longest bit of travelling either of us have done in many years.
We’re flying to in to Lima, Peru, and flying home from Santiago, Chile at the very end of August. There’ll likely be some Bolivia in the middle and some Japan afterwards. And that’s about about as much as we have planned. There are some places we’ve looked up ahead of time, such as the Amazon and the Atacama desert, and the Inca trail is booked (didn’t want to miss out on that), but other than 2 nights in our first hostel we’ll be going where the wind (well, a coach) takes us.
In truth, we’re writing this for ourselves - so our memories of a lifetime will exist in a slightly more solid form years from now. We hope though that you’ll follow along with our little adventure and keep in touch as we bumble around the world.
